One of the great liabilities of our history is that all too many people fail to remain awake through great periods of social change. But today our very survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant, and face the challenge of change. The large house in which we live demands that we transform this worldwide neighborhood into a worldwide brotherhood. We must work passionately and idefatigueably to bridge the gap between our scientific progress and our moral progress.

Another surgery for 2007

At my age, one simply does not anticipate requiring a Tonsillectomy. It doesn't seem right. Nonetheless, I am scheduled to have my tonsils and adenoids removed on October 30.

No Halloween festivities for me this year.

I am not looking forward to the excruciating pain everyone tells me I'll experience. Recovery could be up to three weeks, so I'm buying instant cold packs, non-acidic fruit juices, pudding cups, frozen yogurt, and anything else I can think of to help the healing.
